In the fading light of day, I sit reflecting on my life
As I watch the golden hue of the sun’s ray on the sky
I am tired, so tired of the weary journey I have traveled
I want to lay my head down and slip peacefully away
It is time for me to rest now, my body is weak
And my soul has lost the desire to go on.
I long for a resting place to lie down
A dark and silent tomb to dwell for eternity
Again death eludes me, leaving me here
To suffer the agony that has become my life
I am denied the peace of mind that goes along
With death.
I turn my back on the night and
know tomorrow will once again greet me.
